Colorado Delegation Attending Zero to Three Convening
Gary Community Investments is part of a Colorado delegation that will attend the ZERO to Three Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health convening in Minneapolis in October to advance state policy related to infant and early childhood mental health.
Ten states were selected to participate in the convening, which aims to identify state strategies to align healthcare finance policy, specifically Medicaid, with infant and early childhood mental health practice. Following a competitive process, representatives from governmental agencies, advocacy organizations, and child- and family-serving programs in the following states were selected: Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon and Virginia. States will share their expertise and explore possible solutions to their current challenges.
The ZERO to THREE Policy Center’s focus on infant and child mental health aligns with Gary Community Investments’ School Readiness and Youth Success outcome areas, which focus on early childhood social and emotional wellness, including growing the professional pipeline of individuals with a specialization in early childhood mental health; increasing integrated behavioral health and primary care through the utilization of medical homes for comprehensive care; and broadening access to mental health consultation in early childhood settings.
Check back in November to learn more about our takeaways from the convening.
